My name is Timothy Hoffmann, and I am a filmmaker, actor, musician and photographer currently based in Switzerland.

My work focuses on honest moments and genuine human experience, and the cinematic stories they tell. With a background in strategy at On Running and an MBA from IESE Business School as well as a decade-long professional career in the arts, I bring creative and commercial understanding together to tell meaningful stories across feature films, brand campaigns, and documentary & portrait photography.

Co-wrote original story treatment, led the film as a principal actor, and co-wrote and performed seven original songs comprising the original soundtrack alongside co-lead Nicolette Norgaard. Official selection and winner of multiple festival awards (Audience Choice, Best Original Score). Distribution by 4Digital Media, soundtrack publishing by AMR Songs. Independently produced through crowdfunding and private investment, shot with a modest budget and skeleton crew on location in Los Angeles, California. Ran festival circuit before securing distribution and music publishing deals, recouping and exceeding original budget. Publishing deal with AMR Songs led to a national promotional tour, performing the original soundtrack live with a full band across Nashville, New York, California and Florida.

Stuck in the past, Balta is waiting for the right moment. It’s been waiting for him too.

Spec film developed for the inaugural IESE Brand Storytelling competition — conceived and run in partnership with Byredo and parent company Puig, requiring teams to receive an official brand brief and deliver a finished short film shot in a single day, within one week. Led the project end-to-end as co-writer and director — overseeing all pre-production (location scouting, storyboarding, scheduling, rehearsals, costumes) and post-production (editing, sound design, special effects, color grading). Awarded top prize of competition (Best Picture).
